Espai Columba is a cultural facility whose mission is to conserve and exhibit different sets of mural paintings and liturgical objects from Andorran churches. It is a centre for disseminating knowledge of Romanesque and medieval painting in Andorra without forgetting the architectural context and other artistic manifestations that formed part of the divine universe of this artistic style. A visit to the Espai Columba is the perfect complement to a visit to the church of Santa Coloma, one of the most representative examples of the architecture from this period. In the church there is a projection, a magnificent audiovisual show that allows visitors to live an experience that will take them back to the original interior of the church.

A true gem housing some of the most important medieval works in Andorra, the Espai Columba preserves, safeguards, and showcases a unique heritage collection of global significance.

Mission
The collection links various medieval periods and artistic styles, with a focus on Romanesque art. It traces the development of this art form through history, offering insight into its evolution.
Through medieval art, it highlights the connection between the Andorran valleys and the wider world, from the creation of Romanesque frescoes to their recovery and current exhibition, emphasizing their distinctiveness and cultural and artistic identity, blending knowledge and enjoyment.

Vision
Espai Columba should position itself as the heart of a heritage, cultural, and tourist network focused on medieval art, particularly Romanesque art in Andorra. The exceptional density of Romanesque churches in the Principality provides an opportunity to create various itineraries that include multiple monuments.
In addition to showcasing its own collection, Espai Columba should become a vibrant space for promoting and connecting Andorra’s entire medieval heritage.
As a key reference for native medieval art in the Eastern Pyrenees, the Columba complex should also develop routes and connections across both sides of the Pyrenees, linking the diverse expressions of Romanesque and medieval art.
