Automobiles have been one of the most important challenges of the 20th century. The eighty vehicles on display show the evolution of aesthetics and mechanics to adapt to the needs of each era, and how speed limit and engine power have been pushed.

The museum also houses a hundred bicycles that bear witness to the challenges that the evolution of technology has achieved in transforming a clumsy, awkward and dangerous widget into a stylized, reliable and practical machine.

The collection, made up largely of pieces from various private collections, is considered one of the most important in Europe in terms of cars and a world reference in terms of bicycles.

"The Snowman" in Barcelona

That winter, "snowman" Claret went to Barcelona with his machines to clean the snow off the city streets. Faced with the emergency, the Franco regime made an exception and allowed Claret and his fleet of machines in the country and along the Diagonal in Barcelona. Mayor Porcioles, who was a judge of appeal in Andorra, gave him recognition for his work in Barcelona.

The Snowman

In 1962 a heavy snowfall surprised lower altitude areas of Catalonia at sea level. Andreu Claret Casadessús (1908-2005), one of the founders of Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC), lived as a refugee in Andorra, where he was responsible for the country's snowplows. In fact, he cleaned up the Envalira mountain pass at a time when snowfalls were very heavy.
